Artist Statement: The reference for this painting came from an outing with my sister and daughters. I love enjoying the beauties of nature with the ones I love.
Artist Bio: After graduating from college in art over 25 years ago, Cortney Lunt became a full-time mom (eventually having 4 kids) and a part time artist. Family was always her main priority, and continues to be so, but she is finding more time for her art as her family has grown up. Some of her favorite paintings are ones that help people remember that it’s important to take time to appreciate and enjoy the simple joys in life. For many years she painted mostly with watercolors but eventually transitioned to oil painting. In 2020 she started taking workshops from artists she admires, and for the last several years has been working hard to improve. The best thing for her has been developing the habit of regularly painting from what she observes in her life. She has found that the more she learns, the more she realizes she doesn’t know, and she loves it all. She loves to share the joy that art brings her with others.
