Artist Bio: Denise Miller’s paintings celebrate the quiet beauty and enduring spirit of the American West. Through expressive texture, color, and careful observation, she captures the atmosphere of open landscapes, the wild spirit of horses, and the emotional connection we share with the natural world.
From a young age, Denise directed her passion for horses towards the arts, drawing them every day and building a strong technical foundation. She studied oil painting under Utah artist Linda Champion and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Art from Utah State University.
Inspired by the rugged beauty of Utah’s landscapes, Denise photographs the Onaqui wild horse herd and the surrounding desert, bringing them home to her studio where they find new life on the canvas. Her work invites viewers to pause, reconnect, and bring a sense of the West’s peace and vitality into their homes.
