Artist Statement: The outer shape of this piece represents the shape and size of the The Great Salt Lake in 1985. The area shown in blue represents its size in 2022. The lake has lost nearly half of its surface area and its "ecological collapse" has begun. We have not taken care of this unique and beautiful ecosystem, and the results are disastrous.
