Artist Statement: This collection of three landscape pieces is a visual reflection of my recent journey to Thailand and through the Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay, experienced intimately by sea canoe. Immersed in the rhythm of paddles against water and the echo of limestone cliffs, I sought to capture not just the scenery but also the quiet soul of the Andaman Sea. Each piece represents a distinct emotional memory: the hushed stillness of hidden beaches, the vibrant interplay of light and water from the canoe, and the towering serenity of rock formations rising from turquoise depths.
Artist Bio: Haylee Syphus takes pride in standing out. Her artwork goes beyond traditional oil landscapes. It begins with the canvas—she builds and frames each one with a unique shape in mind.
Haylee has loved creating art since grade school, and at the start of the pandemic she was inspired to pick up a brush and disappear into tranquil sceneries. Each painting is inspired by her travels and represents a cherished memory.
