Artist Statement: And God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.
God called the light Day, and the darkness Night.
As I prepared for this year's Certain Women show, I found myself drawn to creation and garden of Eden imagery. Doctrine, and common sense, indicate that women are integral to both stories. Truth is reason, truth eternal! Women surely participated in both counsel and in the literal creation of the earth. And on the heels of the Creation, in the first great act of faith: Mother Eve partakes of the fruit and our mortal experience begins on earth.
