Artist: Jane Roberts DeGroff
Title: Series and Cycle
Medium: Stitch shibori and embroidery on dyed cotton
Dimensions: 11 x 8 ½ inches
Price: $220
Artist Statement: My creative process is very tactile. I stitch and manipulate the cloth to compress areas so they will not take the dye. The theory is simple, but the techniques can be quite complex, and the possibilities are endless. Variety is obtained by varying the stitching and binding techniques, using different plants for dyes, and through mordant application.
