Artist Bio: Jennifer Babcock is an artist, dreamer, thinker, and observer, whose creative inspiration springs from a deep connection to her roots in Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, and Ethiopia. Jen's paintings are interpretations of the poetry and challenge of her day-to-day life parenting nine highly individual children. The concepts of nature, adoption, connection, family, and loss infuse her work.
Jen holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Brigham Young University where she studied painting with Hagen Haltern, James Christensen, Bruce Hixson Smith, Frank Magleby, Robert Marshall, and Wulf Barsch. In addition to painting, she is a writer, a photographer, and maker of handbound books. She is also an avid gardener and has a soft spot for her backyard chickens.
