Artist Statement: My oldest child performed in theatres and musicals for years and it was a big part of our home. I grew to really enjoy the plays because of her. This was the mask that hung in her room for many years.
Artist Bio: Jessica Michaelson is a Salt Lake-based artist working primarily in oil. She enjoys working in both portrait and figurative work and often paints religious themes. She feels it is rewarding, though humbling, to paint pieces depicting the Divine. They are often the most challenging works to portray and the most meaningful to her. She also loves to paint themes that have meaning in her life through objects, florals, and landscapes.
