Artist Statement: It may be cliché, but when standing next to a beautiful mountain river, we are reminded to flow with the twists and turns of life. When we don't fight against the inevitable highs and lows of life, we can, like a river, accept and participate in the beauty of our existence and our experience within it.
Artist Bio: Kat was inspired to paint by her travels and experiences in the vast wilderness of the American West. Kat realized that, for her, capturing a photo didn't feel like enough to remember a special vista or feeling of being on a high peak or low desert, so she decided to start painting those vistas. Kat firmly believes painting a landscape encapsulates the experience of the viewer forever, for every brush stroke is a connection with the land and its living things. Kat received her Bachelor's of Arts from BYU-Hawaii and still loves visiting the island. Kat loves spending time with her family traveling, mountain biking, snowboarding, and riding motorcycles.
