Artist Statement: This is a fold-out-book which tells a version of the creation story and our deep, inescapable need for growth and change. In the wrestle of holding too tightly to one belief, each element lowers its head and weeps. Rather than being destroyed by the failure to avoid uncertainty and change, it creates space for something new, beautiful, and precious to grow.
Artist Bio: Art has always been a major part of my life, beginning when I drew my first picture as a toddler—scratched scratched onto the hood of my dad’s car. Woops!
I find art to be a source of healing, self-expression, joy, and connection. It allows us to express ourselves, experience the world around us, and communicate beyond language barriers.
