Artist Bio: Lacee Black is a collage artist whose work explores visual texture, print as pattern and color, and the interplay of light and form. Her practice spans still life, portraiture, landscape, and plein air studies, capturing the beauty and intricacy of everyday life through layering paper media to build depth and visual interest. She holds degrees in Graphic Design and Illustration from Salt Lake Community College and has exhibited regionally and nationally, including the Arizona Aqueous Show (Tubac, AZ, 2016), multiple Salt Lake Community College President’s Art Shows, and numerous local and statewide exhibitions. Her work has also been featured in plein air events such as the Wasatch Plein Air Paradise Festival and Sandy Arts Guild Quick Draw competitions.
Black’s work has received recognition through awards in plein air and city- and school-sponsored competitions, including Best in Show (SLCC President’s Art Show, 2021) and People’s Choice (Sandy Visual Arts Show, 2025). These accolades reflect her technical skill, dedication, and ongoing engagement with a professional artistic practice that continues to evolve through experimentation and conceptual exploration.
