Artist Statement: The title for this piece comes from Isaiah: "In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength."
It carries for me the idea of being safely at home, gaining strength through resting and trusting rather than worrying and overworking. Behind the stained glass is a fabric collage I designed for an overlapping, layered look. I love that in this piece, which is about finding safety in rest, you can see soft fabric through the glass, a material we recognize as being comforting.
