Artist Statement: This painting is an abstracted representation of the world and all that is in it. The 10-fold design has the same symmetry as the seed arrangement hidden within an apple; the dance of the planet Venus as it dances in the heavens above the Earth; and the human DNA molecule which is the architecture of life itself. Within its fractal complexity is the “golden ratio,” a harmonious and infinitely generative proportion known for its fractal complexity. This particular composition is inspired by a design found crowning a dome in Istanbul.
