Artist Statement: Light is always an important element in my work. It is essential for life and for any form of visual language. It also provides comfort and warmth. This painting has to do with lowering a plumb line into the issues of masculinity and examines intergenerational responsibility, caregiving, and the feelings of abundance and contentment.
Artist Bio: Michelle Nixon is an award-winning watercolorist with national and international recognition. Her work has been published in numerous art magazines and she is an active educator, leading workshops and serving as a juror for exhibitions. She currently resides in Hyde Park, Utah.
