Artist statement: This painting was inspired by both fairy tales and ancient Goddesses alike. She is an embodiment of the forest, of the flowers, of the trees. She is a protector of nature.
Artist Bio: Kendra Hitchcock is a contemporary oil painter based in Utah. She grew up around crafters & creatives who encouraged the arts, and her first experience with oil paints was at the age of five. Kendra received her Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) degree, with an emphasis on drawing & painting, as well as extensive coursework in Art History and Digital Media. Kendra is an international selling artist, with exhibitions in solo, group & juried shows as well as art auctions and fundraisers. Her work tends toward a melancholy tone which she captures through strategic lighting, rich dark colors, and symbolically foreboding subject matter.
