Artist Statement: Neurograhic art was developed by a psychologist to increase mindfulness and redirect thought patterns that cause fear and confusion. By rounding off sharp angles and intersections in mark-making, an artist can relieve anxiety, increase creative possibilities, and get things in perspective. When I am between big projects or get stuck on something, I create small neurographic paintings to calm my mind and help me find solutions. I decided to try them on a larger scale and created these floral paintings.
