Artist Statement: As my wife and I have recently had our first child, I felt inspired to depict the first Christmas from Joseph’s point of view as a new father. The experience of holding a new human creature, who you are responsible for, is a sacred moment. Symmetry in the composition conveys the sacredness of this experience. The wooden beams of this simple structure are not unlike the columns of a church.
Artist Bio: Randolph is a classically trained artist whose work has been deeply influenced by Renaissance and Baroque art. He has also received training in impressionism and 19th-century naturalism. This thorough education has given rise to a style with a breadth of technique and elevated design.
Randolph believes that the beauty found in great art can lift and heal us. He believes it can motivate us to become what we wish to be.
Randolph currently lives in Saratoga Springs, Utah, with his lovely wife Lela, and their daughter Lucy.
