Artist Statement: She is reaching, tired and messy, expansive but small, and trying to grow. She is stretching, but it hurts. She is tall and proud, sitting on a foundation of the knowledge of her worth. That foundation was not free. It was created through fabulous earthquakes, thrilling wind, beating rain, and biting freeze. She wouldn’t trade anything in the world for these beautiful growth scars. She would not be herself without them. She knows what she can become because of those who have shown the way.
