Artist Statement: In this series, I explore the interplay between landscape and human presence. The juxtaposition of man-made materials with the inherent beauty of nature invites contemplation on how we interact with, shape, and ultimately repurpose our environment. Each found fragment carries its own history and connection to the land it traveled in.
Artist Bio: Marissa Albrecht is a mixed-media artist currently working with collage and mobile photography. Observations of her surroundings have been keenly influenced by her travel studies to numerous cities, which have played a major role in the discovery of new materials and visuals. In addition to her art practice, Marissa is also a dedicated teacher and mentor, working as an adjunct instructor at BYU and UVU since 2020, where she teaches drawing, painting, and design courses.
