Artist Statement: On a trip to the Holy Land in 2017, I was able to spend some time on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, also known as the lake of Gennesaret.
Artist Bio: Rose Datoc Dall is an award-winning painter whose contemporary figurative paintings are most recognizable for her bold colors and dynamic compositions. Her most iconic pieces are sacred works on the life of the Savior. Many of her originals can be found in permanent collections such as the Church History Museum, the Springville Museum of Art, Brigham Young University, Southern Virginia University and in Latter-day Saint temples, the Conference Center, the Church Office Building, Temple Visitors’ Centers, Church meetinghouses, and numerous publications. Born in Washington, DC and raised in Northern VA, Sister Dall received her BFA in Fine Art Studio and Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA in 1990. Sister Dall is wife of 36 years to Timothy Dall, mother of four adult children, and grandmother, or “Lola,” to six grandchildren.
