Artist Statement: A Utah native buttercup nestled among rocks on Stansbury Island overlooking the Great Salt Lake
Artist Bio: Rose Torres is a botanical artist based in Salt Lake, Utah. She uses watercolor, graphite, and silverpoint on paper, parchment, or vellum. She has spent much of her life exploring and learning about the mountains, deserts, and wildflowers. Rose is a Master Gardener, steward of over 40 acres of mountain land, and mother to six children. She graduated from the Society of Botanical Artists Diploma Course, with Distinction, in 2023, and was invited to be an SBA Fellow the same year.
Rose is passionate about and seeks to bring attention to the unique plants and pollinators that call Utah home, particularly the threatened and endangered plants that need public awareness to conserve their habitat.
