Artist Statement: In the driest, harshest environment out here in the West, this flower thrives. Right in the middle of summer where everything else is dying and having a hard time, it is at its most explosive color and becomes a mecca for all kinds of pollinators. It is something I look for as my family ventures out camping.
Artist Biography: Tyler innovates by incorporating unconventional materials like roofing tar into his work. He experiments with oil and water-based paints, creating pieces with unique textures and aesthetics through spontaneous material reactions and meticulous layering, transitioning from vibrant to subtle palettes.
