Artist Statement:
All of the horses, the chariots, and the entire army of Pharaoh was bearing down upon the newly freed Israelites. Before them lay an impregnable Red Sea, too vast to swim. The Israelites were terrifyingly stuck. But God knows no barriers. “Stand still and see the salvation of God,” Moses said. See what God can do for you when there’s nowhere left to turn. A mighty and perhaps terrifying wind began to blow, strong enough to cause the waters of the Red Sea to recede. This storm was God’s instrument for a miracle, and knowing this, perhaps the children stretched their arms out and flew in the safety of God’s love and protection.
