About the artwork: I drew inspiration for this painting while exploring the coast of Maine at sunrise. Drawing on this experience in my studio, I worked in acrylic paint to capture the range in light along the rocky shoreline while infusing unexpected color into the piece.
About the artist: Kristen Preble primarily works in acrylic medium with a focus on creating expressive art. She strives to represent her subjects in a new and fresh way through layers of color and mark making. Kristen especially loves painting with bright colors that draw the eye and convey a feeling of joy and energy and to explore color combinations in a new and interesting way. She has had the opportunity to source inspiration from all over the country for 18 years while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, and is currently serving in Boston, MA.
