Artist Statement: This painting is a reflection of my personal artist journey. As a child, I declared with confidence that I wanted to be an artist. But as I grew older, fear, self-doubt, and the weight of practicality gradually quieted that voice. For decades, I concealed the dream behind a mask shaped by societal expectations and inner uncertainty. It wasn’t until I found myself in the throes of motherhood that the spark reignited. The mask began to slip, and I reconnected with my childhood dream to create art. This piece captures that moment of return—when I finally let go of the fear and doubt, to rediscover my child-like courage and freedom to dream.
