Artist Bio: Rachel Crockett Smith, a visual artist based in Virginia, is known for her abstract paintings, which are influenced by the nuances of color.
Rachel graduated from Brigham Young University with a BFA in studio art in 2007. Since then, she has exhibited across the country, earning various accolades, including a Mother Artist Grant through The Vision of the Arts Fund in 2019. She is represented by Dwell Fine Art in Hume, VA.
In addition to her own artistic endeavors, Rachel is passionate about nurturing emerging talent. She develops art programming for children and spearheads a visiting artist program aimed at providing opportunities for local artists. Her commitment to art education was recognized in 2022 when she received the esteemed Innovate + Create Grant from Teaching Artists of the Mid-Atlantic.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Rachel has called Virginia home since 2010. She resides in the Winchester area with her husband and four daughters.
